Operating point and DC sweep

Find steady-state voltages with .op and sweep a source with .dc.

Not every question needs time. A DC operating point (.op) gives the stable voltages and currents with capacitors open and inductors shorted. A DC sweep (.dc) repeats that for many values of a source.

Voltage divider

Run it and LTspice shows a table of node voltages and branch currents. By hand: V(OUT) = 10 x 3k / (1k + 3k) = 7.5 V. The simulator should agree.

Sweep the source

Now the horizontal axis is V1 from 0 to 10 V in 0.5 V steps. Plot V(OUT): a straight line with slope 0.75, which is exactly the divider ratio.

Click a wire in an .op run and drag across a resistor to read its current and power directly. Alt+click on a component shows its power waveform.
